The Ekar derailleur was designed using Campagnolo’s unmatched experience and ingenuity, developed and refined over more than 90 years of innovation. Although the Ekar derailleur shares the heritage and research behind our groupsets starting from Super Record, this brand-new design was created specifically for gravel. The dedicated 1x system and 13 speeds make it effective, and the use of a 9-tooth cog allows for a complete range of gears with short and evenly spaced shifts and well-maintained cadence levels. The technology, design, and materials were chosen to meet the specific performance needs of all-road and gravel enthusiasts. The combination of quick, precise, and reliable shifting with high chain security, lightness, durability, and robustness firmly places it in the all-road arena. The medium cage derailleur design is compatible with different cog sizes across all three cassette options, from 9-36 to 10-44, perfect for any gravel requirement. The 2D parallelogram trajectory is specifically designed for the Ekar 1x system to enable the derailleur to perform precise mechanical movements to make the most of the 13 cogs. Its differently toothed pulleys ensure optimal operation and high chain retention to guarantee security and peace of mind, whatever terrain you face. The clutch, permanently engaged for greater chain retention reliability and minimal operating noise, can be locked forward for easy wheel removal. Only in the Ekar derailleur are there more than 70 carefully designed and engineered individual parts. Carbon fiber-reinforced polyamide and anodized 7075 and 6082 alloys are skillfully combined in the body and derailleur arm of the Ekar to achieve the best combination of strength, durability, and lightness for reliable long-term operation and to ensure excellent resistance to impacts, sand, and dust on gravel routes, while the screws are made of stainless steel to guarantee long-term strength and resilience in the toughest conditions.
